My passion for fitness began as a young child when I would workout with my mom. It only grew from there. As long as I can remember, I was always working out. I began lifting weights sophomore year in high school in between cross country and track seasons to keep in shape. At that point, I realized what I wanted to do with my life - learn as much about exercise as I could and use this knowledge to help others with their exercise and fitness goals. I received my BS in Applied Exercise Physiology and MS in Exercise Physiology from Springfield College in Massachusetts. Shortly afterwards, I moved to Texas to begin the PhD program in Kinesiology at Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. I graduated in May of 2010 with a PhD in Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Biology. I am certified as a Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine. My areas of expertise are injuries, conditioning, and functional training. My motto is "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you!
I have 40+ years experience teaching fitness and nutrition. At 63 years of age, I experience dynamic health and fitness... something I think everyone should enjoy. My goal is to educate people in the fundamental concepts of holistic health and motivate them to make significant positive changes in their daily activities. In addition to promoting fitness, I am also an active competitive athlete with 35 years of bike racing experience.
